April 26, 2014

Final Stats

ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington softball dropped both games in Saturday's doubleheader against No. 16 Louisiana at Allan Saxe Field. The Mavericks fall to 20-28 overall and 4-12 in Sun Belt action.

"We didn't have quality at-bats with our runners in scoring position that first game. We had some opportunities and we weren't able to push them across," UT Arlington coach Kristie Fox said. "Their pitchers did a good job mixing up speed.

"In the second game, the pitcher was throwing a lot harder than we've seen in a while and it took us until the fifth inning to adjust, but we need to make those adjustments earlier in the game."

The Mavericks and the Cajuns return to Allan Saxe Field on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the finale of the three-game series.
