SB: Mavs go down 4-1 against Georgia State

April 6, 2014

Final Stats

ATLANTA, Georgia - UT Arlington lost its final game of the Georgia State series 4-1 Sunday afternoon at Robert E. Heck Softball Complex.

"We left too many runners on base today," UT Arlington coach Kristie Fox said. "When we get runners on someone needs to have a good at bat and get some RBI. A lot of players had the opportunity to be the hero and didn't come through. We are one hit away from fourth and fifth place."

The Mavericks dropped to 15-23 overall and 1-8 in the Sun Belt Conference after a 1-2 weekend.

Sophomore Shannon Carrico made her 17th start of the season and fell to 7-9.

Georgia State opened up a 4-0 lead through three innings. The Mavericks score their lone run on Rebecca Stokes' sac fly in the fifth.

The Mavericks play their first midweek game of the season Wednesday at Abilene Christian at 6 p.m.
