Postgame Notes

  • UTA defeated ULM 93-59 to improve to 13-4 and 6-1 in the Sun Belt. The win clinched UTA a winning record in the month of January, doing so in the first three months of the season for the first time since 1977-78. (UTA was 5-0 in November, and 4-3 in December)
  • ULM fell to 4-14 overall and 1-6 in SBC play.
  • The Lady Mavericks improved to 8-1 at College Park Center and have won the last six at home.
  • UTA had four reach double figures, including a game-high 21 from junior center Rebekah VanDijk. VanDijk was 10-of-15 from the field. The 21 points earned her the fifth game with 20 points or more this season. VanDijk has 1,046 points her in her career moving up to 16th in UTA history.
  • Ericka Mattingly had a career-high nine assists, following a game in which she produced a career-best eight steals on Thursday night against Louisiana.
  • The 93 points were the most UTA has scored in a conference game since Feb. 21, 2009 when it scored 96 against Central Arkansas in the Southland Conference.
  • After being outscored in the first quarter in the last two games, UTA reversed the trend with a 18-7 advantage on Saturday.
  • Shelby Richards had a career-best 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Richards made her first start since Dec. 31.
