POSTGAME QUOTES

UTA HEAD COACH Scott Cross
"I thought our guys played extremely hard. Alabama has a very talented basketball team. They are well-coached. They play hard. They have a little bit of everything. They have drivers. They have shooters. I was proud of our guys to have the opportunity to win this basketball game. They could have folded when Alabama got a six or seven point lead. Our guys kept playing. To have an opportunity to win in a tough environment speaks a lot to the players we have on our basketball team. I was pleased, overall. We know there are some learning lessons from this. We just have to get back to work and get better.

"(Collin Sexton) is extremely talented. He can do a little bit of everything . He took control of the game. He can drive it. He is relentless attacking the basket. The best thing Alabama does is play in transition. They are one of the most relentless teams I've ever seen in transition. We had to adjust and try to get a second guy back on defense. The just kept putting it on top of us. I thought we did a good job, for the most part, in the half court. But, they are so good in transition it caused us problems all night.

"(In the second half) I think (Alabama was) pressuring us. We ended up dribbling the ball more than we normally do. That led to a lot of our turnovers. Usually, when we move the ball and pass it we can pick teams apart. The reason why we are efficient is because we have a guy like Kevin Hervey, who can do everything. He is extremely efficient shooting the basketball. He is a great passer. And, we have some big guys who can finish around the basket. And, we have some good shooters as well. When we move the ball and we play with speed, we are pretty tough to defend. Alabama did a good job of getting in the passing lanes and made it tough for us to reverse the ball."
