POSTGAME NOTES
- UTA moves to 4-1 on the season, while Niagara falls to 2-4.
- UTA returns to College Park Center Monday for the first of three home games in six days when it hosts UT Dallas in a 7 p.m. (CST) tipoff. Niagara remains at the Gallagher Center to host Army on Monday night.
- UTA trailed Niagara 46-50 at halftime, marking the first time the Mavericks trailed at the half since their opener against Loyola Marymount.
- Erick Neal registered a career-high 15 assists against Niagara, marking his fifth-straight double-figure assist performance and the 14th of his career. He entered the game as the nation's leader in assists with an average of 10.8 per game.
- Neal's 15 assists equals the 3rd-highest single game total in program history. The program record for single game assists is 17 by Jermaine Johnson against Sam Houston State on Dec. 28, 1998.
- Erick Neal also scored 17 points against Niagara for his fourth double-double of the season and the 11th of his career.
- Niagara connected on 13-of-33 3-point field goals in the game, the most 3-pointers for a UTA opponent this season. The previous high was Western Carolina's 11 3-pointers last night.
- Kevin Hervey scored 27 points against Niagara with 10 rebounds, marking the fourth time this season he has surpassed 20 points in a single game and his first double-double of the year.
- Kaelon Wilson scored a career-high 22 points at Niagara, his third double figure scoring game of the season and his first since scoring 10 at BYU. His season high was 13 at home in the opener against Loyola Marymount and his previous career best was a 21-point effort against South Alabama on March 3, 2016,
- Mairega Clarke scored 11 points at Niagara, eclipsing his season high of 5 against Loyola Marymount and his previous career best of 10 against Sul Ross on Dec. 21, 2015.
- Erick Neal was named the Barclays Center Classic, Niagara Region Most Valuable Player.
- UTA claimed the Barclays Center Classic, Niagara Region title.
