Opening statement …
"I want to obviously say congratulations to South Alabama. They played really well and determined. They were really consistent with their offensive output. We knew it was going to be a tough defensive ballgame. They are really good defensive team. We talked about it in practice yesterday about ways to attack them, because we knew it was going to be difficult to score. The kids battled really well, especially the first three quarters and it wasn't pretty by any means but we were down one going into the fourth. We had some major defensive breakdowns in the fourth quarter, which are not normal for us. I hate that because I think our kids are tougher than that. They are definitely better that that so for whatever reason we had some breakdowns there and then we just had a tough time executing our offense. We had to get some different lineups on the floor to try to match them a little bit and they did a really good job of exposing those matchups, which got us a little out of sync on offense. A tough night and a really tough quarter. I thought we battled for three quarters but that fourth quarter we didn't"
On taking positives from the game …
"Just knowing that we can get ourselves back into the ballgame. We were down seven I think and closed the gap to one. We turned the basketball over seven times in the first quarter and 14 times total, so we only turned it over seven times over the rest of the game. That is really big for us to control the basketball and not give opponents any extra opportunities. I am disappointed that we did such a great job on Thursday night on the boards against Troy - who is third in the nation in rebounding - and then we turnaround tonight and get outrebounded by 16. That is the consistency that we have to fix. I know our girls will respond to that and we'll have to fix it. They took two steps forward and then for whatever reason we take a step backwards. We just need to keep working."
