Coastal Carolina tied the game in the second with the first of its home runs, a solo shot with two outs. Whitney Walton pushed UTA back into the lead with a leadoff home run in the third. Leaving two on in the third, the Chanticleers made UTA in the bottom half with a six-run outburst, four by the way of their grand slam.
UTA used a double steal to pull a run back in the fourth with Kayci Moore coming home and a three-run sixth brought the deficit back within two, however, the Mavs left two in scoring position in the sixth to drop the finale.
