@UTAMavsVB Prepare for NIVC Quarterfinals

VERMILLION, S.D. - Winners in four of their last five contests, the UT Arlington volleyball team will look to keep their momentum going in the quarterfinals of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) on Tuesday night against South Dakota.

POSTSEASON NIVC TOURNAMENT OVERVIEW
The National Invitational Volleyball Championship will be an annual tournament involving 32 to 40 of the nation's top women's Division I Volleyball teams. All games, including the semifinals and championship, are hosted by participating schools. Every round is single elimination.
UTA NOTES
• The Mavericks have won 20 matches for the first time since 2015, when they finished the season with 25 wins.
• Madelyn St. Germain needs just one more dig to become the 5th Maverick to have 600 digs in a season and the first since Caitlyn Cooney accomplished the feat in 2014.
• The 19 wins this season are the most for the Mavericks since Head Coach JT Wenger took over in 2017. He has increased his win total each season that he has been at the helm.
• Brooke Townsend (400 kills), Kylie Jedlicka (337 kills) and Madison Hill (292 kills) have been a triple threat for the Mavericks this season.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | South Dakota
• The Yotes are currently on a 16-match home winning streak, which includes a perfect 12-0 mark at home this season.They have not lost at home since October 12 of last year (Omaha; 3-1).
• South Dakota has the 8th most assists per set in the country (13.53). That is in large part due to Madison Jurgens, who is 5th in the nation in assists per set with 11.77.
• Elizabeth Juhnke and Sami Slaughter lead the Coyote offensive attack with 458 kills and 390 kills, respectively Defensively, Madison Harms leads the team with 1.36 blocks per set.Â
• South Dakota is coming off wins over Central Michigan (3-1) and UNLV (3-0) in the opening two rounds of the NIVC.
• This is the first match between UT Arlington and South Dakota.
