AUSTIN, Texas – The UT Arlington softball team (4-18) is coming off a 2-0 midweek loss at Stephen F. Austin Wednesday (Mar. 24). The Mavericks will head to Austin to face UTSA (5-13), South Dakota (4-20) and the host, No. 10 Texas (20-3) for the three-day Bevo Classic beginning Friday, Mar. 26 at Red & Charline McCombs Field.
UTA will commence tournament action Friday at 6:00 p.m. as they take on UTSA for the second time this season.
The Mavs will open Saturday's play with an 11:00 a.m. start against the host, Texas before taking to the diamond five hours later to face South Dakota at 4:00 p.m.
UTA will wrap up tournament play Sunday with a doubleheader against South Dakota at 10:00 a.m. followed by Texas at 12:30 p.m.

- Senior KJ Murphy continues to lead UTA with a .349 average at the plate across all 22 games started and has recorded at least one hit in the last 8 contests.
- The third baseman's bat has been extremely valuable in the lineup as she has smacked 6 doubles, 2 home runs, 9 RBI's and 9 walks with a .540 on-base percentage.
- Freshman second baseman Jessica Carreon has showcased her speed in the box with a .300 average and is 2-3 in stolen base attempts.
- Sophomore right hander Kenedy Hines (1-8) leads the UTA pitching staff in the circle with 38.2 innings pitched with 16 strike outs while junior Allie Gardiner (2-2) follows behind Hines with 31.1 innings thrown.

- UTSA is coming off a 0-5 weekend in the Mizuno Classic in Stillwater, OK where they lost to Wichita State twice, Kansas City twice and No. 9 Oklahoma State once.
- UTA took part in the UTSA Classic (Feb. 26-28) earlier this season as the Roadrunners topped the Mavericks 9-1.
- Celeste Loughman has started in all 18 games for the Roadrunners and has a .340 batting average on the season.
- Loughman has tallied 3 doubles, 3 triples, 1 home run and is 6-6 in stolen base attempts.
- Brittany Coe is 16-39 (.410) at the plate across 14 games appeared in while collecting 4 home runs and a .769 slugging percentage.

- The Longhorns are coming off a three-game sweep over New Mexico (Mar. 19-20).
- Texas has had an impressive start on the season as they took losses from LSU twice and Louisiana once.
