NORMAN, Oklahoma – Coming off a 2-3 weekend in the 2
nd Boerner Invitational at Allan Saxe Field, the UT Arlington softball team will hit the road Wednesday to Norman, Oklahoma to take on No. 1 Oklahoma for a midweek matchup.
The Mavericks are coming off a big 2-0 win against North Texas Sunday to close out tournament play. With it being a close contest, it came down to senior
Aileen Garcia executing a squeeze play that led to the 2-0 victory.

UTA NOTES
- Sophomore Lindsey Franklin has been very successful in her pinch-hit appearances at the plate this season going 4-5 (.800) over six games played.
- Freshman Jessica Carreon is 10-29 batting .345 on the season with a .424 on-base percentage.
- Senior third baseman KJ Murphy leads UTA in doubles (5) and in walks (8) with a .528 slugging percentage.
- Sophomore pitcher Kenedy Hines (23.1 IP) and senior Jojo Valencia (20 IP) lead the rotation in the circle with 11 strikeouts this season.
- Coming off a solid performance on the mound over the weekend, Valencia kept Texas A&M – Corpus Christi to just one hit over 5 innings pitched.
- Hines threw 6.2 innings against North Texas Sunday and did not allow a single run facing 27 batters.

- No. 1 Oklahoma has had an impressive start on the 2021 season with an overall record of 17-0.
