TROY, Ala. – The UT Arlington softball team (20-18, 10-8 SBC) will head to Troy, Alabama for a three-game series as the Mavericks look to clinch their fourth conference series this season.
The Mavs are set to face the Trojans Friday, Apr. 22 through Sunday, Apr. 24 at Troy Softball Complex. UTA sits on an overall record of 20-18 with a 10-8 record in conference action.
UTA tabbed its third Sun Belt sweep last weekend as the pack took all three games from Georgia Southern at Allan Saxe Field. However, the Mavs are coming off a fresh 2-1 loss in extras to Baylor Tuesday night in Arlington as UTA battled the whole way but ultimately came up short.

SERIES HISTORY
The Trojans lead the overall series with the Mavericks 18-12 as the most recent matchup between the two teams came back in 2021 at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament where Troy eliminated UTA 3-1. In Arlington, the Trojans lead the series between the Mavs 8-6 as well as in Troy 6-2.
UTA NOTES (20-18) (10-8, SBC)
- The Mavericks are coming off a tough 2-1 loss to Baylor Tuesday night at Allan Saxe Field as UTA took the Bears all the way into extra innings. Prior to Tuesday's game, the Mavs took down Baylor in a 12-3 run-rule victory back at UTA's home opener earlier this season.
- UTA is currently tied for 4th place in the conference along with Texas State as the pair share a 10-8 record in Sun Belt play alone.
- Morgan Rios continues to pace the Mavericks' offense with a .338 batting average. She has 23 RBI off 26 hits so far this season with 5 home runs - tied for the 2nd-most with KJ Murphy.
- Senior Meagan Smith and graduate student KJ Murphy have been instrumental in UTA's lineup this year as the two have a combined 49 RBI. Smith leads the pack with 8 home runs this as Murphy leads with 38 hits.
- Freshman Jessica Adams leads the pitching rotation with 152.2 innings so far this season as she sits on a 12-12 record. Adams has 72 strike outs on the year with 13 complete games.

- The Trojans are coming off a midweek loss at Georgia Tech where Troy fell 8-1.
- Troy sits on an 11-7 conference record as the pack swept App State in Troy last weekend.
- Junior Kelly Horne leads the Trojan's offense with a .398 batting average as she also leads the Sun Belt. She has tabbed 10 home runs, 34 walks, 22 RBI and a .786 slugging percentage on the season so far. Horne was recently named Sun Belt Player of the Week for batting .800 in the series sweep over App State.
- Sophomore Jade Sinness holds a .328 batting average with 7 home runs. Sinness leads the team with 43 hits and stolen bases as she is 9-9 on the year.
- Junior Leanna Johnson continues to be Troy's ace in the circle this season as she has a low 2.07 ERA over 155.1 innings pitched. Johnson is 16-8 this year and has thrown 18 complete games. She leads the pitching staff and Sun Belt Conference with a total of 208 strike outs.
- Sophomore Libby Baker has spent 75.1 innings on the mound as she has a 4.46 ERA. Across 19 games she has appeared in this season, Baker has tabbed 87 strike outs – 2nd-most on the staff.

The Mavericks will head to Boone, NC as the team looks to face App State for a three-game conference series beginning Friday, Apr. 29 with the first pitch at 5:00 p.m. EST.
