ATLANTA – The UT Arlington softball team (15-15, 6-6 SBC) looks to face Georgia State this weekend for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series beginning Friday, April 8 at 5:00 p.m. CT.
The Mavericks sit on an even 15-15 overall record with a 6-6 conference record after UTA picked up its second Sun Belt series sweep last weekend over ULM at Allan Saxe Field (4/1-4/3).

SERIES HISTORY
The Mavericks lead the overall series with the Panthers 13-12 as the most recent conference series came from April of 2021 where UTA won the series 2-1. Georgia State did manage to defeat UT Arlington in the series opener last year 2-0 however the Mavs went on to pick up back-to-back wins in game two and three of the series.
UTA NOTES (15-15) (6-6, SBC)
- UTA is coming off a tough loss to No. 19 Texas Wednesday at Red & Charline McCombs Field as the Mavs fell to the Longhorns 14-4.
- The Mavericks sit at an even 6-6 in Sun Belt Conference play after completing a second series sweep last weekend over ULM.
- Senior Meagan Smith paced the Maverick's offense in Wednesday's midweek matchup against the ranked Longhorns as she went a perfect 3-3 at the plate with 3 RBI.
- Smith leads with a .337 batting average as the first baseman has played in all 30 of UTA's games this season. She also holds a team-high of 22 RBI and 6 home runs.
- KJ Murphy and Smith pace the Maverick's offense with 29 hits so far this year.
- In conference play alone, graduate student Courtney Ogle leads the Mavs with a .500 average across 5 games. Following Ogle is Morgan Rios as the catcher holds a .346 batting average with 4 RBI and 9 hits.
- Freshman Jessica Adams has been the Mavericks' ace this season as she has racked up 116.2 innings spent in the circle with 58 strike outs. Adams holds a 3.60 ERA with 2 saves and 10 complete games.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT – Georgia State (13-19) (4-5, SBC)
- Georgia State went 2-1 in its series at Troy last weekend as the Panthers dropped the first two games of the series but picked up a 4-0 win over the Trojans in the final game.
- Junior Bailee Richardson has started in all 32 games for the Panthers so far this season as she leads with a .306 batting average, 9 home runs, 27 RBI, 30 hits and a .633 slugging percentage.
- Sophie Mooney holds the second-best number of RBI (15) and batting average of .284.
- On the mound, redshirt junior Emily Buck leads the pitching staff with a 3.06 ERA. With a 4-4 record, she has tabbed one save on the year with 50.1 innings pitched.
- Fellow pitcher Hallie Adams leads the Panther pitching staff with 55.1 innings pitched with 40 strike outs – most of the staff. Both Buck and Adams both share 4 complete games apiece this season.

The Mavericks will be back home at Allan Saxe Field as they will welcome Georgia Southern for a three-game conference series beginning Thursday, April 14 through Saturday, April 16.
