ARLINGTON, Texas – For the second time this season, UT Arlington softball will face No. 20 Baylor Wednesday, Mar. 22 with the first pitch slated for 11:30 a.m. at Allan Saxe Field.
The Mavericks will welcome Swift Elementary, Ousley Jr. High and Hughes Middle School as part of UTA's Kid's Day.
UTA is coming off a 2-1 weekend in St. George, Utah where the Mavericks opened WAC playing against Southern Utah. Head coach
Kara Dill and company now sit on an overall record of 11-13.

SERIES HISTORY
Baylor leads the series between the two teams with an overall record of 55- 28 and 18-13 at Allan Saxe Field. However, the Mavericks have won 4 of the last 7 games against the Bears with the last win coming from a 12-3 run-rule victory back at UTA's home opener on Feb. 22, 2022.
UTA NOTES (11-13, 2-1)
- With five players hitting above .300, sophomore Paris Brienesse leads the Mavs with a .333 batting average across 22 games. The lefty slapper has nine stolen bag and 18 hits on the year.
- Fellow sophomore Jacquelyn Adams has appeared in nearly half of UTA's contests this season - all as a pinch-hitter - and has provided tremendous timely hittingfor the Mavs going 4-10 at the plate (.400).
- Freshman Marley Neises has improved her average to .327 after finishing 6-12 in St. George, Utah. The outfielder tabbed a new career-high after turning in a perfect 5-5 performance in the Mavs' 15-10 win against the Thunderbirds (3/17).
- Senior Lindsey Franklin paces UTA's lineup with five home runs and 16 RBI this season after putting up two last weekend against SUU.
- On the mound, right-handed pitcher Jessica Adams has been UTA's go-to with 75 innings of work so far this season and a 6-6 record. The sophomore leads the pitching staff with a 2.05 ERA and four complete games. In the Mavs' 10-3 win over Southern Utah, Adams limited the Thunderbirds' offense to just one earned run, coming away with the win.
- So far this season, Dill and her staff have picked up notable victories against Texas Tech (2/17) in the season-opening Maverick Invitational and #8 Kentucky in Celina, Texas at the Tracy Beard College Classic in just their first year leading the program.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | #20 BAYLOR BEARS (22-5, 0-0)
- The Bears are fresh off a weekend sweep over Houston (3/17-3/19) at home as the team sits on an impressive 22-5 overall record.
- Infielder Shaylon Govan leads Baylor's offense with a .424 batting average, a 1.341 OPS, seven home runs and a team-high 34 RBI off 28 hits.
- Govan, along with six other Bears, hold above a .300 batting average as junior McKenzie Wilson is batting .398 – second-best on the team. The outfielder leads with 25 runs scored, 33 hits and 14 stolen bases.
- Junior pitcher Dariana Orme leads the Bears' pitching rotation with over 79 innings pitched. The righty holds a low 0.79 ERA and limits her opponent's bats to a .165 batting average.
ON DECK
UTA will hit the road for its second series of conference play in Riverside, Calif. where the Mavs will face the Lancers of California Baptist beginning Friday, Mar. 24 for a three-game series.
