RIVERSIDE, Calif. – For its second conference series, UTA will travel out west to face off with the Lancers of California Baptist beginning with a doubleheader Friday, Mar. 24 followed by a single game on Saturday, Mar. 25 from John C. Funk Stadium.
There is no series history between the two teams as this will be the first time in program history that the Mavericks will play the Lancers.
The Mavs sit on an overall record of 11-14 after suffering a 5-0 loss to #20 Baylor this past Wednesday at Allan Saxe Field. However, UTA heads into its meeting with CBU with a 2-1 conference record after coming away with the series win against Southern Utah (Mar. 17-18) in St. George, Utah.

UTA NOTES (11-14) (2-1, WAC)
- The Mavs won their first WAC series last weekend (Mar. 17-18) at Southern Utah as UTA is hitting .383 as a team. Across three games played so far, Jacquelyn Adams leads the way with a .667 average in conference play alone.
- Following closely behind Adams is Morgan Westbrook (.600), Lindsey Franklin (.571), Marley Neises (.500) and Nikki Donahue (.500) all hold a .500 BA.
- Overall, Neises paces the Mavs' offense with a .327 BA and has the third-most hits on the team with 17.
- Senior Franklin has five home runs on the season and a team-high of 16 RBI. The Texas native is one of two Mavs who have started in all 25 games this year.
- In the circle, sophomore Jessica Adams posts a low ERA of 1.99. The righty has 34 strike outs across 81 innings of work. Adams has been head coach Kara Dill's go-to on the mound, tabbing six wins, 13 starts and four complete games.
- So far this season, Dill and her staff have picked up notable victories against Texas Tech (2/10) in the season-opening Maverick Invitational and #8 Kentucky (2/17) in Celina, Texas at the Tracy Beard College Classic in just their first year leading the program.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT – California Baptist (16-13) (0-3, WAC)
- Before its midweek doubleheader was canceled due to rain, CBU dropped all three games in the WAC opener at Stephen F. Austin last weekend.
- Middle infielder Priscilla Estrada leads the Lancer offense with a .333 batting average and .353 in conference play alone. Estrada has tabbed 31 hits on the season with six multi-hit contests.
- Maya Martinez (.269) and Molly Kolander (.242) share a team-high 12 RBI on the year.
- In the circle for California Baptist, the four-player pitching staff sits on an ERA of 2.63 as junior Jazmine Castaneda leads with a 2.10 ERA.
- The righty has four wins on the season and shares a team-high of 23 strike outs with junior right-handed pitcher Alyssa Argomaniz and freshman pitcher Presley Hosick.

UTA will be right back at home next Wednesday (Mar. 29) for a DFW Metroplex midweek matchup with North Texas with the first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. at Allan Saxe Field.
