WACO, Texas – The UT Arlington track and field teams closed out day two of the Clyde Hart Classic with two first-place conference rankings and a day full of the season's best performances.
Senior,
Malaiya Jedkins dominated the day with a win in the women's triple jump, with a mark of 12.57m, and is now currently ranked first in the WAC in this event. Jedkins also set a PR in 100m with a time of 12.67 and in the 200m with a time of 25.57.
In the women's pole vault,
Simona Cabella placed 3rd with a clearance of 3.85m. With this mark, she currently sits first in the conference.
To start the running events for the day,
Faith Shaw,
Adeyemi Talabi,
Tatyana Terrell and
Madison Pippins finished 2nd in the women's 4x100m relay with a season's best time of 44.96.
Joel Bengtsson earned a win at his first outdoor meet of the season with a time of 13.79 in the men's 110m hurdles.
Zaire Moore placed 4th in the women's 100m hurdles with a season's best time of 13.87.
Freshman,
Glodis Thuridardottir set with a PR in the javelin with a throw of 31.35m and in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.53, placing top 10 in both events. On day one, she set a PR in the 200m with a time of 25.76.
Brady Shadrick placed 4th in the men's javelin with a throw of 55.42m and set a pr in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.60.
In the women's 400m,
Tatyana Terrell placed 4th in the women's 400m with a season's best time of 54.39.
Jeriel Algarin Marquez set two personal records. In the 800m, he finished 5th with a time of 1:52.95 and finished top 10 in the 1500m with a time of 3:53.56.
Patrick Estes battled for a 3rd place finish in the men's 3000m with a final time of 8:42.28. In the women's 3000m,
Claire Compher finished in 4th at 10:30.23.
In the men's high jump,
Calen Jones finished in 2nd with a final clearance of 2.00m. Freshman,
Erlend Raa was not far behind in 4th place at the same mark.
The men's 4x400m relay teams closed the day with a 4th place finish. Adam Hererra,
Levi Bontke,
Khalid Mendez and
Jarvis Miles finished the race with a season's best time of 3:13.88.
Other Notable Performances:
- McKinley Novacek set a PR in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.77.
- Levi Bontke set a PR in the shot put with a throw at 10.91m.
- Luke Bontke set a PR in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.32 and in the shot put with a throw of 11.46m.
- Faith Shaw set a PR in the 100m with a time of 12.17.
- Khalid Mendez placed 8th in the 100m with a time of 10.61.
- Krianne McBride placed 8th in the 800m with a PR of 2:15.23.
- Tyler Rodriguez set a PR in the 800m with a time of 1:58.67.
