NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Taking a break from midweek action, the UT Arlington softball team (14-18, 4-5) will head to Stephen F. Austin for a three-game conference series with the Lumberjacks beginning Sunday, Apr. 9 followed by a doubleheader Monday, Apr. 10 from SFA Softball Field.
The Mavericks are coming off an electric weekend at Allan Saxe Field after taking the series against the top team in the WAC, Utah Tech, with a comeback win in the final game.
Heading into this weekend at SFA, UTA leads the overall longstanding record of 56-28 with the Lumberjacks.

UTA NOTES (14-18) (4-5, WAC)
- UTA pulled off the series win in the final game of the series this past Saturday (4/1) from a trio of home runs from Sophie Wideman, Alaina Hampton and Meagan Smith.
- Freshman Marley Neises shares a team-high of 24 hits with Reagan Hukill on the season as Neises leads with a .343 batting average.
- Infielder Hampton has been on a hot streak for UTA as she hit .545 last week, coming away with four RBI. In Saturday's final game against Utah Tech, it was Hampton's grand slam in the bottom of the sixth that put the Mavericks on top which led to an 8-5 victory, leading UTA to the series win.
- Jessica Adams holds the third best ERA in the WAC with a 2.08. The sophomore has appeared in 25 games for the Mavericks and has tossed over 104 innings of work. With six complete games to her name, Adams has 42 strike outs.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT – STEPHEN F. AUSTIN (18-16) (6-3, WAC)
- SFA split its midweek doubleheader at Houston this past Tuesday as the squad sits on an overall record of 18-16.
- Senior Mackenzie Bennett leads the 'Jacks with a .361 batting average and 38 hits on the season. She has started in all 34 games this year, tabbing nine doubles.
- Fellow senior Gaby Garcia has an impressive 14 home runs on the year with 31 RBI and a .755 slugging. In conference along, Garcia has seven long balls and 13 RBI.
- Camryn Middlebrook is the only other player who is batting above .300 as she holds a .309 average. Middlebrook has logged 29 hits and 19 RBI so far.
- In the circle, freshman Alexis Telford leads the 'Jacks' pitching staff with a 2.99 ERA across 75 innings of work. Telford has appeared in 18 games this season, coming away with seven wins and 59 strike outs.

The Mavericks will head to Stillwater next Wednesday to face No. 2 Oklahoma State for the 27th time in program history with a 6 p.m. start time from Cowgirl Stadium.
