SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Day one of the 2023 NCAA Track and Field West Regional concluded for the Mavs after
Khalid Mendez competed in the men's 200-meter dash.
In the second to last event of the day, Mendez ran in lane two of the final heat of the event.
Mendez finished with his sixth fastest time of the outdoor season, posting a time of 21.50. Although he did not qualify for the finals on Friday, May 26, it was still a very successful outdoor season for the sophomore from Killeen, Texas.

Thursday, May 25, is the start of the women's events and begins with
Madison Pippins in the 100-meter dash at 9 p.m. (CT), followed by
Tatyana Terrell in the 400-meters at 7:25 p.m. (CT). Terrell will wrap up the day for the Mavericks in the 200-meter dash at 10:45 p.m. (CT).
