SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Day two of the 2023 NCAA Track and Field West Regional concluded for the Mavericks after the first day of women's events which saw
Tatyana Terrell and
Madison Pippins compete in their solo events.
To start the day off for the Mavs was Pippins in the 100-meter dash. Pippins clocked in a time of 11.75 to finish with the 43rd fastest time in the west region, missing qualifying for the quarterfinals.
Terrell had quite the busy day, running in two separate events that began with the 400-meters. Terrell clocked in with a time of 54.99, her sixth fastest time of the year, and missed qualifying for the quarterfinals.
In here second event of the day, the 200-meter dash, Terrell finished with a mark of 23.92 in a jam-packed field. Despite it being her fifth fastest time of the outdoor season, she just missed qualifying for the quarterfinals.

UTA returns to action on Saturday, May 27, when the women's 4x100 relay team consisting of Terrell, Pippins,
Mikeya Washington and
Adeyemi Talabi take to the track at 7 p.m. (CT).
Malaiya Jedkins is also on tap for the triple jump which is set for a 8 p.m. (CT) start time.
