ARLINGTON, Texas --- For the second consecutive summer, UT Arlington senior outside hitter
Brianna Ford will participate in the Global Challenge in Pula, Croatia July 18-21.

Coached by Mick Haley, Ford competed for Team BIP last year, helping lead her team to a first-place finish in the U23 Brijuni Division Standings and capturing a spot on the U23 All-Tournament Team.

This year, Ford will be coached again by Haley, who is assisted by Kiki Kocar. Her team reports for training today (July 13) and will compete beginning on July 18. They will compete in three matches over the first two days before beginning tournament competition July 20-21.

This year, Ford left early for Europe to vacation and do some sightseeing. She will be providing a blog of her experience and taking over the UTA volleyball IG account, which will include some day in the life stuff. You can follow along

The 18th Annual Global Challenge will feature u18 and u23 teams from around the world. The opening ceremonies will be streamed live at 2 p.m. CT on the
Global Challenge Facebook page.

Year after year, the mission of the Global Challenge is to provide teams international playing experience and exposure. Past tournament participants have included club and country federation teams from Slovenia, Russia, Romania, Germany, Bosnia, Montenegro, China, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Japan, Iran, Sweden, Denmark and Puerto Rico, plus USA regional HP, youth national, junior national, and collegiate national teams.
