UTA NOTES (10-17, 1-1)
- The Mavericks suffered a midweek loss to No. 1 Oklahoma as the team moved on to an overall record of 10-17. Prior to its game at OU, UTA opened conference play at Allan Saxe Field on Mar. 15 as the Mavs split its series with the Lancers of California Baptist.
- UTA's Camille Corona is on a nine-game hitting streak after collecting a 2-3 performance at the plate against the Sooners. It was Corona's lead-off bunt single in the top of the first that got things going for the Mavericks' first base runner. Two batters later, Marley Neises laid a sacrifice bunt down before a throwing error brought Corona around to score UTA's first and only run of the night.
- Corona continues to be the front-runner as the fifth year holds the best batting average of .413 – ranking sixth in the WAC.
- In Norman, fifth year Lindsey Franklin is a top offensive performer in the Mavericks' lineup after the infielder finished 2-3, making that her ninth multi-hit game of the season. Now, Franklin sits on an impressive .400 batting average with 30 hits – just one behind Corona.
- Nikki Donahue and Kaitlyn Sailor share a .306 batting average as the pair have knocked 15 hits each.
- Sophomore Marley Neises leads the Mavericks with a .714 batting average in conference action alone and was named WAC Player of the Week on Mar. 18 after batting .700 with two home runs and six hits across three games.
- On the mound, junior Jessica Adams maintains the leading spot in head coach Kara Dill's staff with an ERA of 2.97. Adams has spent the most time on the mound for UTA with over 42 innings pitched. The Texas native has recorded three complete games as she threw a perfect game on Mar. 3 at Allan Saxe Field against Incarnate Word (W, 1-0). That perfect game was the second in program history and first in a full seven-inning contest. Adams' solid performance led to WAC weekly honors of Pitcher of the Week (Mar. 4).
