ST. GEORGE, Utah – The UT Arlington softball team will compete in its second to last weekend of the regular season as the Mavericks will face Utah Tech for a three-game conference series beginning Friday, Apr. 26 from Karl Brooks Field.

UTA NOTES (20-27, 10-9)

• The Mavericks are coming off a week of rest as UTA clinched its series with Abilene Christian last weekend – making that the third WAC series win this season.
• UTA is tied for 4th in conference with Utah Valley as both programs are 10-9 in WAC play.
• The young overall series record is tied at 2-2 as the Mavs took the series over the Trailblazers, 2-1, at Allan Saxe Field. However, it was Utah Tech who knocked the Mavs out of the conference tournament last May with a final score of 6-4.
• As a team, UTA is batting .276 with 171 runs scored off 337 hits so far this year. The Mavericks have continued to better themselves offensively as the squad is just shy of a .400 slugging percentage (.391).
• Fifth year stand out Camille Corona continues to lead the Mavs in multiple statistical categories as she also leads with 15 multi-hit contests on the season. The lefty has played a vital role in head coach Kara Dill's lineup, pacing UTA with a .400 batting average, 54 hits, a .461 on-base percentage, eight stolen bases and 24 runs scored.
• Leading the way with 28 RBI and six home runs is fellow fifth year Lindsey Franklin. The first baseman has started in all but two games as she sits on a .320 batting average – second best on the team.
• Both Zaia Castruita (.339) and Nikki Donahue (.341) are the other two players who currently hold a .300 average or better. Castruita and Donahue have 18 RBI and 48 hits between the both of them as Donahue leads in games played with 34.
• Junior Jessica Adams sits on a low 3.03 ERA as she leads with over 87 innings pitched and six complete games.
• Freshman lefty Abi Gutierrez soared to 45 total strike outs on the year after recording incredible last few outings in the circle. In 79.2 innings of work, the freshy sits on a 4.13 ERA.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | UTAH TECH TRAILBLAZERS (16-27, 9-10)

• So far this season, Utah Tech has picked up conference series wins over Abilene Christian, Stephen F. Austin, and California Baptist. Unfortunately, the most recent matchup's series finale at Tarleton was canceled as the Trailblazers are fresh off a 1-1 weekend.
• Currently, Utah Tech is in 6th place in the WAC standings as the team is batting .250. Altogether, their offense has produced 145 runs off 268 hits.
• Leading with 40 hits and a .320 batting average is sophomore LB Kahahawai-Kekona who has started in 41 games for the Trailblazers this season as she also leads with 11 stolen bases.
• Junior infielder Carly Eldredge holds a team-high of 55 total bases with a .306 average at the plate and 38 hits.
• The only other member of UTU that is batting .300 or higher is junior outfielder Marisa Rubio (.313) who has also knocked eight RBI off 31 hits.
• The four-player pitching staff sits on a 5.87 ERA as junior right-hander Attlyn Johnston leads with a 4.53 ERA, 89 strike outs, nine complete games, six wins and 19 starts all while seeing over 109 innings of work.

ON DECK
The Mavericks gear up for its final weekend of the regular season as UTA will host Seattle U for its senior weekend. The Mavs will play a doubleheader on Friday, May 3 followed by the series final on Saturday, May 4 from Allan Saxe Field.
