ARLINGTON - The UT Arlington softball team is coming off consecutive midweek wins, sitting on a four-game win streak as the Mavericks welcome the Wildcats of Abilene Christian to Allan Saxe Field for a three-game conference series.
UTA leads the overall series record with the Wildcats, 9-7, as the previous series ended in the Mavericks favor back in April of 2024 where UTA took the WAC series 2-1. Head coach
Kara Dill and the rest of the UTA softball team will welcome a familiar face back to Allan Saxe Field as former assistant coach Jo Koons will take on UTA as the first-year head coach for ACU. Joining Koons is former UTA softball player and graduate assistant Kenedy Hines who now serves on Koons' coaching staff as an assistant.
The Mavericks sit on a conference record of 4-2 after taking the series from Utah Tech and Tarleton. UTA looks to continue its momentum in its series against the Wildcats as the program holds a winning record of 17-10.

UTA NOTES
- This week only, sophomore Emma Lopez leads with a .600 batting average coming away with two RBI, three hits, one double, and a 1.000 slugging percentage. The lefty was responsible for the go-ahead run in Wednesday night's matchup at North Texas to put the Mavs up 3-2.
- Overall, junior Kailee Bautista holds a team-high of 18 RBI with 26 hits, eight doubles, 43 total bases, eight doubles (T-1), 22 walks, seven hit-by-pitches, a .623 slugging percentage and a .561 on-base percentage. The Texas product has started in all 27 games for the Mavericks this season, splitting her time at catcher and designated player, as the power-hitter leads the UTA pack with a .377 batting average.
- Freshman Talia Maldonado is the only other Maverick who holds an average of .300 or higher as she sits on a .304. Maldonado has started in every game at shortstop as the Corpus Christi native has collected 21 hits, 14 RBI, eight doubles, 10 walks and a .493 slugging percentage.
- In conference play alone, sophomore Kaitlyn Sailor currently sits on the highest batting average of .444 with eight hits, 12 total bases, four RBI (T-1), four doubles and a .667 slugging percentage (T-1). Joining Sailor at the top is Bautista with a .400 average, seven walks and a .667 slugging percentage.
- Senior Jessica Adams (6-2) got the win for UTA after defeating the Mean Green in extras on Wednesday, Mar. 19 from Lovelace Stadium. The right-hander went 7.1 innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on four hits, allowing one walk and striking out one. Now, Adams leads the seven-player pitching staff with a 2.82 ERA. The Bryan, Texas native has spent the most time in the circle for the Maverick so far this season with 44.2 innings pitched.
- Lefty pitcher Abi Gutierrez leads the pack with 28 strike outs and a perfect 4-0 record in the circle. Making 11 appearances and seven starts is Emilie Hoelscher who has tossed 33.1 innings this year and holds a 3.36 ERA.

The Mavs will head down to Waco to face power five opponent Baylor on Tuesday, Mar. 25 with a 6 p.m. first pitch.
