WACO - The UT Arlington softball team looks ahead to its midweek contest at Baylor on Tuesday, Mar. 24 as the Mavericks sit on an overall record of 19-11.
UTA is coming off a 4-1 week after picking up wins over Houston Christian (3/18), North Texas (3/19) and a conference series win over Abilene Christian (3/21-22).

UTA NOTES
- Sophomore Emma Lopez put up a .529 batting average after starting in all five games last week for the Mavs, including a six-hit performance over the weekend series against ACU. Overall, the sophomore put up nine hits across the course of the week, coming away with one double, one triple, six RBI, 12 total bases, a .706 slugging percentage and a .579 on-base percentage. Now, Lopez sits on a .302 overall batting average and .333 in WAC play.
- In a 14-inning thriller on Friday, Mar. 21, freshman Madi McDonnell picked up the extra-inning win after tossing an impressive 12 innings against the Wildcats while allowing just one walk across 49 batters faced. The freshman put up a low ERA of 1.17, coming away with four strike outs.
- Kailee Bautista continues to pace the Mavericks offensively with a .373 batting average with 31 hits, 10 doubles, 20 RBI, 50 total bases, 23 walks, .602 slugging percentage and a .540 on-base percentage.
- Sixth year Emilie Hoelscher sits on a sub-3.00 ERA of 2.78 across 40.1 innings of work. With an even 4-4 record in the circle, Hoelscher holds 20 strike outs under her belt over a total of 12 appearances.
- The seven-player pitching staff share an ERA of 3.62 as senior Jessica Adams posts the second-best ERA of 2.82. With a 6-2 record, Adams has limited opponent's offense to a. 253 batting average while striking out 15 batters.
- In UTA's 96 total strike outs on the season, left-handed pitcher leads the team with 31. The sophomore reached a season-high of 10 strike outs in the Mavericks' 6-5 win over Tarleton on Mar. 15 in Stephenville.

The Mavs will head west to face Utah Valley for a three-game WAC series beginning on Friday, Mar. 28 from Orem, Utah.
