ARLINGTON - The UT Arlington softball team will welcome nationally-ranked and four-time national champion Oklahoma to Allan Saxe Field for a midweek showdown on Tuesday, Apr.1 with the first pitch set for 6 p.m.
This will mark the second time UTA has hosted a no. 2 team as the Mavericks opened the 2024 season at Allan Saxe Field against Tennessee on Feb. 7. Currently, the Mavs are 21-13 with a 14-11 record at home.

UTA NOTES
- UTA's offense is led by junior Kailee Bautista who holds a team-high .357 batting average , 35 hits, 12 doubles, 21 RBI, 56 total bases, 24 walks, a .571 slugging percentage and a .508 on-base percentage.
- Freshman Talia Maldonado is approaching .300 with a .290 average on the season. The shortstop batted .385 on the week including UTA's midweek win over Baylor and across the Utah Valley conference series. Maldonado capped the four games with five RBI, five hits, one double, one home runs and nine total bases.
- Sophomore Kaitlyn Sailor holds a .289 batting average as the infielder has started in 26 games for the Mavs so far this season. Sailor has collected 24 hits, six doubles, 12 RBI, 44 total bases and a .473 slugging percentage.
- In the circle, senior Jessica Adams leads the seven-player staff with a 2.50 ERA over 14 appearances. With a 6-2 record, Adams has totaled three saves on the season while coming away with 20 strike outs across 50.1 innings pitched.
- Fellow pitcher Emilie Hoelscher has had quite the year in the circle for UTA as she holds a 2.85 ERA with over 46 innings of work. The lefty has two shutouts and two complete games under her belt so far this season and currently holds a 6-4 record.
- Earlier last week, UTA was named no. 25 on D1Softball's Mid-Major Rankings as it marked the first time the Mavericks have been named to such list.
- Head coach Kara Dill and company earned their 20th win in the 6-2 win over the Bears on Mar. 25 in Waco.
ON DECK
UTA will take a brief week break from competition before heading to California to face California Baptist for a three-game WAC series beginning Friday, Apr. 11 at 4 p.m. CT.
