ARLINGTON - The UT Arlington softball team is on a three-game winning streak after an undefeated weekend at home as the Mavericks will head into their first weekend of conference play against Utah Tech at 10-8.
UTA will open up WAC action with a doubleheader on Friday, Mar. 7 beginning at 3 p.m. with the series finale on Saturday, Mar. 8 at noon. Saturday will serve as International Women's Day where players on the softball team will walk out with selected women of their choice on the UTA Athletics staff prior to the first pitch.Â

UTA NOTES
- The Mavericks are coming off a successful 3-0 weekend as UTA picked up wins over Prairie View A&M and East Texas A&M from Allan Saxe Field as part of the Maverick Invitational.
- UTA looks ahead to its series with the Trailblazers as Utah Tech leads the young overall series record 5-2. The two victories came from the 2023 series in Arlington with final scores of 8-5 and 4-3.
- UTU is fresh off a 3-2 weekend in Long Beach where the Trailblazers defeated Loyola Maramount, Cal Poly and Pittsburgh as part of the Louisville Slugger Invitational.
- Junior Kailee Bautista continues to lead UTA's lineup in multiple statistical batting categories including batting average (.400), RBI (14), hits (18), doubles (6), walks (11), total bases (30), slugging percentage (.667) and on-base percentage (.571).
- Also, the Rockwall native has collected six multi-hit games with four multi-RBI games.
- Freshman Talia Maldonado holds the second-best batting average of .289 with 11 RBI. Maldonado is tied with transfer Mia McNulty for the second-most hits on the team with 13 after starting in all 18 games for the Mavs. The Corpus Christi product has settled into her role at shortstop nicely, making all starts there.
- Sixth year Emilie Hoelscher holds the best ERA of 2.76 on the seven-player staff with 25.1 innings pitched. Hoelscher and Jessica Adams have spent the same amount of time in the circle for UTA, each with a 3-2 record on the season.

The Mavs round out its 11th game at home, hosting UTSA for a midweek matchup on Tuesday, Mar. 11 at 6 p.m. from Allan Saxe Field.
