ARLINGTON - After a 10-day break from competition, the UT Arlington softball team will resume its season out west for the Mavericks' conference series at California Baptist with a doubleheader on Friday, Apr. 11 followed by the series finale on Saturday, Apr. 12 from John C. Funk Stadium.
UTA sits on an overall record of 24-11 with a 7-5 record in WAC play.

UTA NOTES
- UTA's offense is led by junior Kailee Bautista who holds a .347 batting average. Bautista has started in all 35 games for the Mavs this season, splitting her time at catcher and designated player. The Rockwall native leads in RBI (21), total bases (56), hits (35), slugging percentage (.554), walks (24) and on-base percentage (.496).
- The last game the Mavs played in was against No. 2 Oklahoma last week where Allan Saxe Field reached a new attendance record with 1,228 fans as the Mavs' previous record was 810 back on Mar. 8, 2023 against the Texas Longhorns.
- Against the Sooners, the Mavericks were led by junior Dee McClarity, who went 2-3 on the day with a double and an RBI. Sophomore Mia McNulty compiled a noteworthy performance as well, going 1-3 with an RBI. Senior Nicole Hill also contributed for the Mavs, putting together two hits in two trips to the plate.
- In the WAC, the Mavericks rank high in slugging percentage (.418), runs scored (168), doubles (52), home runs (27) and stolen bases (29).
- In the circle, senior Jessica Adams holds the lowest ERA on staff of 2.45. Across 51.1 innings of work, the righty has 21 strike outs with a 6-2 record on the season.
- Sophomore Abi Gutierrez sits with the third-best ERA of 3.33 and leads the seven-player staff with 38 strike outs.

UTA will be back at home with its series against Grand Canyon beginning on Friday,Apr. 18 from Allan Saxe Field.
The UTA softball team will honor the late Dr. Allan Saxe on Saturday, April 19 during its conference series against Grand Canyon with a pre-game ceremony at Allan Saxe Field which is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m.
The game between UTA and GCU will begin at 12:05 p.m.
A cherished member of the Arlington community, Saxe passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024, in Arlington. Born on February 11, 1939, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Saxe dedicated his life to education, political science, and community service.
