Lowery was named All-Area Co-Most Valuable Player by the Denton Record-Chronicle. While helping lead Guyer to its first state championship and District 5-6A title, he averaged 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game en route to the District 5-6A's Defensive MVP award, a TABC all-state nod and state all-tournament honors.

The Texas state champion spent his junior season playing at North Carolina prep school Winston Salem Christian. He chose to attend UTA over offers from Cal, East Carolina, Kansas State, Missouri, NC State, Oklahoma State, Saint Louis, Seton Hall, SMU, TCU and Wichita State, per 247Sports.

Lowery joins fellow high school signee Amari Reed and Troy transfer Marcus Rigsby, Jr. as new additions to the Mavs' roster ahead of the 2025-26 season.
