ARLINGTON - The UT Arlington softball team looks to get back in the win column with its three-game conference series against Grand Canyon beginning with a doubleheader on Friday, Apr. 18 at 3 p.m. from Allan Saxe Field.
Despite taking the series loss at California Baptist last weekend, UTA sits on a winning record of 22-16 overall and 8-7 in conference action.

UTA NOTES
- As a team, UTA is batting .258 with junior Kailee Bautista at the top with an overall batting average of .333. The returner as started in all 38 games for the Mavericks, splitting her time as designated player and catcher. Bautista leads in multiple statistical batting categories which include runs (22), hits (37), doubles (12), RBI (22), total bases (61), slugging percentage (.550), walks (24) and on-base percentage (.476).
- In conference alone, the Mavericks are led by sophomore Kaitlyn Sailor who has started in 11 of 12 games for UTA coming away with a team-high .378 batting average, six doubles, eight RBI and a .541 slugging percentage.
- Among the seven-player pitching staff, senior Jessica Adams leads the squad with a 2.55 ERA across 55 innings pitched. With a 6-2 record in the circle this season, Adams has collected three saves, one complete game, and 21 strike outs.
- Sixth year pitcher Emilie Hoelscher has had an incredible final campaign with the second-best ERA on staff of 2.87 with over 53 innings of work. The lefty has thrown 25 strike outs, limiting opponents to just one home run.
- Sophomore left-handed pitcher Abi Gutierrez leads the team with 41 strike outs with 46 innings under her belt. The lefty holds a 3.35 ERA on the season across 13 appearances.

The Mavericks will head to Lubbock to face No. 14 Texas Tech on Wednesday, Apr. 23 at 5 p.m.
