NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The UT Arlington Mavericks fell to the SFA Ladyjacks Tuesday evening, 14-6, as they used a late surge to secure the win at SFA Softball Field.
The Ladyjacks struck first in the bottom of the first with an RBI single up the middle before adding a two-run homer later in the inning to take an early 4-0 lead.
SFA continued to apply pressure in the second, plating two more runs to extend its advantage, 6-1. While UTA broke through in the top of the second when
Marley Neises crossed the plate off the bat of
Kaitlyn Sailor, putting the Mavericks on the board.
After the Ladyjacks pushed their total to seven runs through two innings,
Kynlee Bowlin entered in relief and delivered a steadying presence in the circle. The sophomore recorded the first scoreless inning of the night for SFA, halting the early momentum and giving the Mavericks a chance to adjust.

Kailee Bautista sent a ball up the middle to plate two more as the Mavericks scratched across a pair.
Through four innings, UTA cut the deficit to 7-4.
Maddie Furniss entered in the bottom of the fifth, but the Ladyjacks were able to manufacture three more runs in the inning to stretch their lead to 10-4.
The Mavericks responded again in the sixth.
Dee McClarity delivered a two-RBI at-bat, bringing Holland and
Cameron Cooper across the plate to trim the deficit to four, 10-6.
In the bottom of the sixth, SFA's Malia Jones launched a two-run home run deep center field to extend the lead, 12-6, while fellow teammate Lilly Bean doubled to second base for an RBI, 13-6.
Freshman Ladyjack Morgan Wright singled down the left line for an RBI to bring in Sammy Hagman to score, allowing the Ladyjacks to win the game, 14-6.
