ARLINGTON, TX – The UT Arlington Mavericks softball team will close out the regular season at home this weekend, hosting Southern Utah for a three-game series at Allan Saxe Field.
UTA opens the weekend with a Friday doubleheader at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. CT, followed by a Saturday finale at noon. Prior to first pitch on Saturday, UTA will celebrate its senior class.
UTA enters the weekend following a dynamic conference sweep last weekend at Utah Tech, winning 15-4, 12-1 and 9-4.

- The Mavericks are coming off a dominant conference sweep over Utah Tech, winning 15-4, 12-1 and 9-4. The weekend was highlighted by freshman Kaylee Schweitzer.
- In Game 1, Schweitzer went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs scored and three triples, tying the NCAA single-game record for triples. She followed with a 1-for-3 performance and a run scored in Game 2, before a dominant outing in Game 3, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.
- Overall, Schweitzer hit .700 (7-for-10) on the weekend with five extra-base hits and five runs scored. Her explosive bat and ability to produce in key moments played a crucial role in securing the conference sweep.
- The Mavericks rank 11th in the nation in double plays per game (.57).
- The Mavericks rank first in the WAC in SIX categories -- double plays (24), double plays per game (.57), home runs (53), home runs per game (1.26), RBI per game (5.93) and scoring (6.79).
- Peyton Holland ranks first in the WAC in assists (103) and assists per game (2.45). She is also second in runs per game (1.02).
- Holland and Mia McNulty are tied for first in the WAC for home runs with 12.
- Dee McClarity ranks first in the conference in walks per game (.68).
- Freshman Valeria Feeney ranks third in triples per game (.10).
- The UTA single-season home run record stands at 14, while McNulty and Holland just two away at 12.
