Was a four-year letterman at Sanger High School, playing pitcher and outfield... Was an All-District 9 Class 3A and All-Area selection in 2011... was an all-district pick four straight years and earned the Silver Slugger Award in 2010... had a career record of 21-9 over four years... went 7-4 on the mound with an ERA of 2.16 as a senior in 2011...also had 108 strikeouts in 63 innings of work... also starred at the plate, batting .460 with five home runs... had 49 hits, 28 RBIs and 30 runs scored... had an ERA of 0.87 with a 4-1 mark as a freshman... never had an earned-run average higher than 2.20 in any of his four seasons... played summer baseball the past two seasons, helping both the DBat Mustangs (2011) and Dallas Tigers (2010) reach the final 6 at the CMWS qualifiers in Phoenix, Ariz... went 10-1 with four saves in 2010... also played football and led the district in receiving yards in 2009 and finished second in 2010.
