Heather Hoy returns to Arlington to join the Mavericks coaching staff after spending the last four years as the assistant varsity coach at her alma mater Standley Lake High School in Westminster, Colorado.

Hoy was a standout player at UTA from 1994-97, earning the team[apos]s [quote]Most Valuable Player[quote] award in each of her four seasons. As a freshman, Hoy became just the second player in UTA history to be named the Southland Conference Freshman of the Year. She went on to earn first-team all-conference honors from 1995-97 and was named the league[apos]s Player of the Year in 1997. Hoy tops UTA[apos]s all-time charts in kills (1,787), attempts (4,373) and total blocks (449).

After a successful collegiate career, Hoy was invited to train with the U.S. National Team at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center.

Hoy is the mother of twins, Garrett and Savannah, and resides in Arlington.
