ARLINGTON, Texas - The Texas-Arlington women's tennis team picked up a 7-0 victory over crosstown-rival North Texas Wednesday afternoon.
Texas-Arlington (10-7) won every match in both singles and doubles. Junior Simri van Rooyen reached double-digit victories in singles with her 6-2, 6-0 victory over Sammie Moreton at the number three position. She has now won nine matches in a row. Junior Monika Peciulionyte alos has a streak of her own as she defeated Megan Schumulbach, 2-6, 6-2, 10-6, at the number four position for her eighth consecutive win.
The Lady Mavericks will close out the regular season April 20th, when they host rival TCU. First-serve is set for 2 p.m. at the UTA Tennis Center.
