ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington women's tennis won 7-0 over Texas A&M Corpus Christi in a SLC dual match on Sunday, for its fifth complete sweep on the season. With the win the Mavs improve to 8-2 overall and 5-1 in conference matches.
The Mavs started the mach by taking all three doubles matches to win the first point. UTA then went on to sweep all six of the singles matches for the win.
Monika Peciulionyte took the No. 1 singles match 6-4 6-4, while in the No. 2 slot Daniela Novakova remained perfect in singles competition with her tenth straight win, 6-1 6-2.
Sealing the win with point number four was Simri van Rooyen who won easily over Nina Ciric 6-1 6-1 in the No. 3 spot.
Sofya Lifanova added the nail to the coffin with a 6-1 6-0 rout of Alexandra Valarezo, while as the No. 5 single Marissa Brown battled to beat Amanda Brahim 6-1 7-5.
Sara Pesic took the final point of the match 6-2 6-2.
The Mavs will be back in action as they welcome the Ragin Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette to Arlington on Friday at 2 p.m.
