TROY, Ala. – The UT Arlington volleyball team picked up a third consecutive sweep and extended its winning streak to four matches, with a 25-17, 25-19, 25-16 win at Troy on Friday night (Oct. 19).

With the win, the Mavericks improve to 13-7 overall and 7-3 in Sun Belt action, while the Trojans fall to 10-12 on the season and 4-5 in league play.

"I'm extremely proud of the way we played tonight," said head coach J.T. Wenger. "We had a great game plan and executed at a high level. Tonight was a great team effort and the fact that we held an opponent to a .000 hitting percentage is something that we should be proud of."

Kylie Jedlicka finished with a match-high 10 kills in the win over Troy. She also hit .500 and added three digs and a pair blocks in the win. Madison Hill registered nine kills (.316 hitting percentage) and six blocks. Brooke Townsend hit .462 with seven kills, while Petra Manderson and Zhanelle Geathers added six kills each. Alex Janak recorded her 12th double-double of the season with 21 assists and 10 digs. Madelyn St. Germain finished with a match-high 13 digs.

The teams traded blows to open the first set. Trailing Troy 12-11, UTA used a 13-3 run, highlighted by four kills from Kylie Jedlicka, to take a commanding 24-15 lead. The Mavs went on to take the opening game 25-17. UTA hit .393 in the first set, while holding the Trojans to a -.033 hitting percentage.

The Mavericks took the second set 25-19 and never trailed in the frame. With the set tied at 11-11, the Mavs went on a 12-5 run, capped by a service ace from Alex Janak, to take control of the set (23-16).

UTA finished off the sweep with a 25-16 win in the third set. The Mavericks led by as many as 12-points in the third frame, en route to the set win.

The Mavs will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 20, when they take on South Alabama in Mobile. First serve for the match is set for 6:30 p.m.
