ARLINGTON, TX – The UT Arlington volleyball team continues tournament play, as the Mavericks head to Louisiana Lafayette for the Ragin' Cajuns Classic, set for Friday, Sept. 18 through Saturday, Sept. 19 at the EK Long Gym in Lafayette, La.
UTA opens the tournament with a Friday doubleheader, featuring a match against Jackson State at 11 a.m. and host, Louisiana later that night at 6 p.m. UTA will close the weekend with an 11 a.m. match against Mississippi State.

LAST WEEKEND RECAP
UT Arlington finished 1-2 at SFA's Texas Challenge, while
Mazi Smith earned a spot on the Texas Challenge All-Tournament team.
UTA 3, UNT 1
UTA opened the weekend with a 3-1 victory over North Texas last Thursday night at the Shelton Gym, improving to 4-3 on the season. The Mavericks controlled the match early, taking the first two sets 25-13 and 25-18 before North Texas claimed the third, 25-21. UTA responded in the fourth set, edging the Mean Green 26-24 to secure the victory. The Mavericks hit .266 as a team and recorded 51 kills, limiting UNT to a .076 hitting percentage.
Camryn McMinn led UTA with 16 kills, while
Sophia Krichev added 12 kills and five blocks.
TXST 3, UTA 2
UTA battled Texas State through five sets, ultimately falling 3-2 after taking the opening two frames. The Mavericks jumped out to a 2-0 lead with 25-20 and 25-23 victories before the Bobcats rallied to win the final three sets, 25-21, 25-14 and 15-10. McMinn paced UTA with 16 kills, while Krichev added 14 kills and a match-high seven blocks.
Hana Aiana contributed 11 kills, and
Evyn Snook recorded six kills and five aces.
SFA 3, UTA 0
UTA closed out the Texas Challenge with a 3-0 setback against host Stephen F. Austin on Saturday, falling 25-18, 25-21 and 25-23. The Mavericks finished with 43 kills and 43 digs, while SFA hit .308 and recorded four service aces. Krichev led UTA with 11 kills and three blocks, followed by Smith with eight kills and three blocks. McMinn added seven kills and two blocks, while Snook contributed six kills.

- UTA ranks first in the UAC in team total blocks, recording 84 on the season.
- Sophia Krichev ranks first in the UAC in blocks per set (1.30) and total blocks (48).
