2003: 1-0, 7.98...made 10 appearances on the hill, with two coming in the starting role...gave up 12 hits in 14.2 innings of work...made his first start of his career in the home opener against Oklahoma...allowed three runs on two hits in 3.2 innings of work, his longest outing of the season...made his second start against Baylor...picked up his first collegiate win by pitching two hitless innings against Texas Wesleyan...struck out a career high five batters against New Mexico.

Prior to UTA: Comes to UTA after earning All-District honors as both a junior and senior at Martin High School in Arlington, Texas...a two-time All-Area hurler on the diamond at MHS...named Pitcher of the Year and Team Most Valuable Player as a senior...listed in Who[apos]s Who Among High School Students all four years at Martin...also a member of the football team.

Personal: Son of Sharon and Vernon Gardner...born Nov. 2, 1983...father played basketball at Navarro Junior College...a business management major at UTA.
