MBB: Mavs Ink South Dakota State Transfer Stoney Hadnot

ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington men's basketball announced Friday that head coach KT Turner has signed South Dakota State transfer F Stoney Hadnot.
 
The Houston native averaged 6.3 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game at South Dakota State during his freshman season in 32 appearances, two of which were starts. He shot 54.5% from the field in 17.2 minutes per game for the Jackrabbits and scored in double figures eight times during his first collegiate season, with a career-high 14 on 6-of-9 shooting against rival South Dakota.
 
A 2024 graduate of Cypress Springs High School, Hadnot was a UIL 6A All-Region Team selection as a senior, when he averaged 17.3 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists. Hadnot earned repeat District 16-6A Offensive Player of the accolades and averaged 19 points and eight rebounds per game as a junior. He claimed All-District, All-Region and Team MVP award honors during his time at Cypress Springs and also was his district's Newcomer of the Year in 2022. He scored over 1,000 points in his high school career. Hadnot was a top-25 recruit out of the state of Texas and a three-star prospect according to 247 Sports.

 
Hadnot joins high school signees Jordan Lowery and Amari Reed as well as transfers Marcus Rigsby, Jr. (Troy), Tyran Mason (North Texas) and Nathan Ojukwu (Northwest Florida State College) as new additions to the Mavs' roster ahead of the 2025-26 season.
