ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington men's basketball announced Wednesday that head coach
KT Turner has signed Arkansas transfer G Casmir Chavis.
Chavis appeared in one game (vs Maryland-Eastern Shore) during his freshman season in Fayetteville. Out of high school, Chavis was rated a 3-star prospect and the fourth-best prospect from Minnesota.
On3 ranked him the 19
th best guard in the country out of high school, while
247Sports had him as the 22
nd ranked combo guard in the country.
The Minneapolis native was one of five finalists for Minnesota's Mr. Basketball honors and was named
PrepHoops.com AAAA Player of the Year, AAAA first team All-State and to the overall Senior All-State team. He was also tabbed first team All-Metro by the
Star Tribune for 2023-24, when he averaged 23.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.4 assist and 2.5 steals as a senior. During his junior season, Chavis was named to the
Star Tribune's All-Metro second team. He won a state championship as a sophomore and is a three-time conference champion.

Nathan Ojukwu (Northwest Florida State College),
Stoney Hadnot (South Dakota State),

Bahsil Laster (Harcum College) as new additions to the Mavs' roster ahead of the 2025-26 season. The new faces join forward
Raysean Seamster and center Cam Jackson, who return to the Mavs from the 2024-25 season.
