ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington men's basketball announced Tuesday that head coach
KT Turner has signed Northern Colorado transfer G Marcell McCreary.
The Fort Worth native appeared in all 35 games for Northern Colorado this past season and averaged 7.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. He helped the Bears to an appearance in the Big Sky Conference championship game. The 6-4 guard scored a season-high 21 points in a comeback win over Montana State on Jan. 9 and scored in double figures on 13 occasions.
McCreary made 10 appearances in his first season at Northern Colorado in 2023-24, averaging 3.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. He scored a season-high 14 points against Northern New Mexico in 19 minutes on Nov. 8.
After starting his career at Air Force, McCreary played in 29 games, making five starts at Air Force, while averaging 3.8 points, 1.8 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game. He was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week on Jan. 16, after averaging 19.5 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game with shooting splits of .524/.538/.909 vs. Colorado State and Fresno State, including a career-high 26 points in his start at Colorado State, going 5-of 6 from three and free throw line.

Nathan Ojukwu (Northwest Florida State College) and
Stoney Hadnot (South Dakota State) as new additions to the Mavs' roster ahead of the 2025-26 season.
