Biography

2003: 0-1, 2.82...made 14 appearances with one start...allowed seven earned runs in 22.1 innings of work...had his best outing of his career by pitching six scoreless innings, allowing only three hits, as the Mavericks rallied for a one-run victory over Mississippi...struck out a career best two in games against Ole Miss and Texas Wesleyan...pitched 1.2 innings of shutout baseball in helping UTA defeat Baylor for the first time in three seasons...did not allow an earned run in seven of his 14 appearances.

SLC Tournament: Made one appearance on the mound...started the championship game, going 2.1 innings allowing two runs on one hit with one strikeout

Prior to UTA: Right-handed pitcher earned All-District honors in each of his four years at Whitehouse High School, where he graduated in 2002...earned plaudits as the 2002 Pitcher of the Year...also named Offensive Player of the Year last season...named to the Honor Roll...also played basketball at WHS.

Personal: Son of Shelia and Randy Pierson...born Jan. 5, 1984...a business administration major at UTA.
