Prior to UTA: Earned honorable mention all-district honors as a senior at Mesquite High School...received the Skeeter award as a senior...named Pitcher of the Year as a junior...earned first team all-district laurels as a pitcher his junior year...voted Freshman of the Year in 2000...graduated with honors...member of the National Honor Society...Scholar Athlete of the Year recipient ...four year member of the honor roll...graduated in the top 10 percent of his class...nominated for the Wendy[apos]s Heisman...also participated in basketball.

Personal: Son of Debbie and David Belt...born Aug. 21, 1984... great uncle, Garland Warren, played professionally in Canada...a business major at UTA.
