2003: 1-3, 9.00...made 20 appearances, three starts, and pitched 27 innings...struck out 27 hitters on the year...picked up the win by pitching five innings in a start against Centenary...struck out a career best six batters in that contest.

SLC Tournament: Made two appearances...pitched two innings in the championship game loss.

Prior to UTA: Another of UTA[apos]s stable of junior college hurlers, Garza comes to UTA after a two-year career at Navarro Junior College in Texarkana, Texas...the Duncanville, Texas native graduated from Duncanville High School in 2000 ...selected as a first team All-District performer on the diamond as a junior and senior at DHS...also garnered All-Area honors as a senior...stellar performance in the classroom earned Best Southwest Scholar honors.

Personal: Son of Gloria and Narciso Garza...born Sept. 3, 1981...a business major at UTA.
