Prior to UTA: Transferred to UTA after two years at Wharton County Junior College...named team MVP in 2001 at WCJC...hit .210-1-18 in 2002...attended Oak Ridge High School in Spring, Texas...earned first team All-District and first team All-County honors at OHS...also earned All-County Defensive MVP honors.

Personal: Son of Pati and James Dean...father played catcher at North Eastern Louisiana...born May 1, 1981...a business major at UTA.
